Time + dehydration + a poor diet + little or no exercise = dull, bland skin that’s blotchy or contains rough patches. With this kind of equation, is it any wonder that your skin looks lifeless? Here’s how to get beautiful glowing skin again, without spending a lot of money.
1) Water
There’s no getting around this, your skin needs water – not coffee, sugary sodas, or other similar drinks. Drinking water is one of the simplest ways to get beautiful, glowing skin. It will give you soft, supple, and radiant skin.
Dehydrated skin will make you look older. Dry skin sags, becomes loose and the already existing wrinkles deepen and are more noticeable. By simply upping your water intake, you can do so much to reinvigorate your skin.
2) Relax
Take the time to unwind, relax, and let down your hair. Carrying too much stress can cause you to age prematurely at the cellular level, which translates to prematurely aging skin. By chilling out, you allow greater blood flow to your cells, which in turn provide more nutrients and oxygen.
There are three ways you can relax in order to get beautiful glowing skin: the first is to get enough sleep at night. No matter how busy your life gets, your body will always need around eight hours of sleep. Secondly, hop on that bike…or treadmill…or whatever kind of workout routine you feel you can enjoy. Again, working out will increase oxygen and blood flow to all your vital organs and cells.
And then there are the miscellaneous ways you can relax in between resting and working out: take up meditation or yoga, light a candle and take a bath, lean back in a chair and crank up the music – whatever does it for you, find it and use it to your advantage.
Anti-oxidants are wonderful for achieving that beautiful glow on your skin that you desire. There are several ways you can get your daily dose of anti-oxidants and the first is to pick up a supplement. Or, if you’re so inclined, slice a chilled grape in half and, using the fat end, wipe over freshly washed skin while the pores are still open. (Get a Free Trial Anti-Oxidant Cream)
4) Exfoliate
Exfoliating, for those of you who are new to this concept, is simply the act of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. As you age, your skin is less and less likely to full shed the dead skin cells that accumulate. As these dead cells pile on top the skin, they can block moisturizers from reaching the new cells below, and can give your skin that dull look.
There are many ways to exfoliate in order to get beautiful, glowing skin. They range from chemicals to natural sponges, but one of my favorite ways is this:
Take a papaya and cut off a chunk of its flesh, making sure there are no seeds or peel left attached. Rub this piece of papaya over freshly washed face and neck, and then leave on for fifteen minutes. After your time is up, rinse off and moisturize. Papaya is a great, natural exfoliate because of an enzyme it contains, that dissolves protein (dead skin cells).
It is possible to exfoliate too much, which will hurt your skin and leave it raw, so be sure to do this only two or three times a week. You can exfoliate any part of your body too, not just your face.
5) Diet
A proper, healthy diet made up of lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole-grain carbs, and lean proteins, will provide your body with vitamins and minerals it needs to produce beautiful, glowing skin.
No matter what age you are, or what your skin may look like right now, it’s possible to learn how to get beautiful glowing skin.
